Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award

The Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award is a joint project of the Department for BioMedical Research DBMR and the Foundation Johanna Dürmüller-Bol to support a young researcher of the Faculty of Medicine in his/her early career. The research award honours a promising research project, which should provide the base for a successful application for a peer reviewed, competitive grant. MD, PhD, MD-PhD researchers of the Faculty of Medicine, who are not Lab Group Leaders and have not received the habilitation, and are under the direct supervision of a mentor are eligible to apply. Applicants can to submit their proposal no more than 8 years after the date of their PhD defence/ no more than 12 years after obtaining their medical degree (some extensions are possible, see guidelines). The award amounts to CHF 30’000.

Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award 2025

The call for proposals for the Johanna Dürmüller-Bol DBMR Research Award 2025 is now open. 

The application documents (form, CV and written letter of support from their current mentor/supervisor) must be submitted in one PDF file.

Up to five applications will be shortlisted and applicants will be invited to present their projects at the Day of BioMedical Research 2025, which is planned for Wednesday, July 2, 2025. The award winner’s name will be only announced at the event.
