The ESF is a core facility belonging to the DBMR (Department for biomedical research). Our team aims at high quality standard of experimental work, in the respect of the animal welfare and the 3Rs. Our specific research interest is in the area of perioperative animal antinociception and analgesia.
The facility welcomes students and trainees who want to deepen their knowledge in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia. In April 2019 the ESF has been approved together with the Central animal Facility (CAF) as “satellite center of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia”. The European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) is the central authority regulating and certifying the standards of Specialization in Veterinary Anaesthesia in Europe.
