The Department for BioMedical Research offers commonly used special software to its own research groups and other clinics of the Faculty of Medicine.
So called “floating licences“ have been installed on a central server. These floating licences allow the use of a given application on an unlimited number of computers, however, only a limited number of users can operate the application at the same time. Once a user stops using a particular application software on his computer it will become available to other users. In order to make use of this offer, the user’s computer must be on the network of the Faculty of Medicine and must be able to communicate with the software server.
Since we have had good experience with this system, further applications will be considered.
